Welcome to The Bible Thumpers, where four women, four personalities, and one very well-used Bible come together for conversations about Jesus, Scripture, faith, and real life! We’re Cassandra, Brooke, April, and Marie: four friends who love Jesus, love God’s Word, and love digging into it together. Our conversations can go from serious Bible study to big questions, unexpected rabbit holes, laughter, “Wait, what does THAT mean?” moments, and everything in between. We aren’t sitting around pretending we have all the answers. We’re opening our Bibles, asking questions, learning together, and inviting you to pull up a chair and join us.

The Bible Thumpers Podcast is about taking God’s Word seriously without pretending that following Jesus means we have to take ourselves seriously every second. We talk about the beautiful parts of faith, the difficult parts, the questions Christians sometimes hesitate to ask, and what Scripture looks like when Monday morning rolls around and we actually have to live it. Through every episode, every discussion, every laugh, and every detour, our purpose is simple: to encourage women through God’s Word, grow together as followers of Christ, and continually point one another back to Jesus and the truth of Scripture.

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, completely trustworthy and authoritative. Scripture is our ultimate standard for truth, faith, doctrine, and Christian living. We believe God’s Word should be studied carefully, understood in context, and faithfully applied to our lives.

GOD

We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists as three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, yet there is one God.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, willingly died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and physically rose from the dead on the third day.

Jesus ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will one day personally return.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively works in the lives of believers. He convicts the world concerning sin, guides believers into truth, dwells within those who belong to Christ, produces spiritual fruit, equips believers for service, and transforms us as we grow in holiness and obedience to God.

HUMANITY AND SIN

We believe every human being is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity and value. We also believe all people have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Sin separates humanity from God, and no amount of morality, religious activity, or good works can erase our sin or make us righteous before Him.

We need a Savior.

SALVATION

We believe salvation is made possible entirely through the grace of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus willingly died for our sins and physically rose from the dead, defeating sin and death. Forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life are found in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe the biblical response to the Gospel includes faith in Jesus Christ, repentance from sin, confession of Christ, and baptism into Christ. Baptism is commanded by Jesus and practiced throughout the New Testament as believers respond to the Gospel in obedient faith.

Salvation is not something we earn or accomplish through our own goodness. It is God’s gift, made possible through Jesus Christ and received through faith in Him.

REPENTANCE AND TRANSFORMATION

We believe following Jesus involves more than simply professing His name. Jesus calls us to repent, deny ourselves, follow Him, and increasingly become like Him.

Christians are not perfect people. We are people being transformed by God. The Christian life is one of continued growth, surrender, repentance, obedience, and dependence upon Him as the Holy Spirit works within us.

THE CHURCH

We believe all who belong to Christ are part of His Church, with Jesus Christ as its Head. Christians are called to gather together, worship God, study His Word, pray, encourage one another, serve others, participate in the life of the local church, make disciples, and proclaim the Gospel.

CHRISTIAN LOVE AND TRUTH

We believe followers of Jesus are called to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love their neighbors as themselves.

We believe biblical love and biblical truth belong together. Love does not require us to abandon truth, and truth should never become an excuse to abandon love. We desire to speak truth with grace, compassion, humility, and kindness while remaining faithful to Scripture.

THE GREAT COMMISSION

We believe Jesus has called His followers to make disciples of all nations, sharing the Gospel and teaching others to follow everything He commanded. Every Christian has a role in pointing others toward Christ through our words, actions, service, and witness.

THE RETURN OF CHRIST AND ETERNITY

We believe Jesus Christ will personally return. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, eternal life with God for those who belong to Christ, and eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.

Our ultimate hope is not found in this world. Our hope is in Jesus Christ, His promises, His coming Kingdom, and the eternal life He has promised to those who belong to Him.

OUR PURPOSE

The Bible Thumpers is a group of four women who love Jesus, love His Word, and are learning right alongside the women who listen to us.

We do not claim to have every answer. Our conversations may include different perspectives on secondary issues where faithful Christians disagree. When Scripture speaks clearly, we want to speak clearly. When an issue involves interpretation or an area where Christians sincerely disagree, we want to acknowledge that honestly and continually return to Scripture.

The Bible Thumpers Podcast is not intended to replace the local church, pastoral leadership, personal Bible study, prayer, or your own responsibility to examine Scripture. In fact, we hope it makes you want to open your Bible even more.

Don’t simply take our word for something because you heard it on our podcast. Open your Bible. Read the surrounding passage. Study the context. Ask questions. Pray. Compare Scripture with Scripture. Seek truth.

Because at the end of the day, The Bible Thumpers aren’t the authority. God’s Word is.

Our desire is to encourage women to know Scripture, grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ, live out their faith, and become increasingly transformed into His image.

We are The Bible Thumpers: four women, one Bible, plenty of questions, and one purpose — pointing women back to Jesus and His Word.
